Accompanied by a private English-speaking guide and the Vatican’s official keyholder, guests will help open the doors to some of the world’s most celebrated artistic and architectural treasures.

The private route may include the Pio-Clementino Museum, the Upper Galleries of the Candelabra, Tapestries and Maps, the Raphael Rooms and, ultimately, the Sistine Chapel. As the galleries come to life, guests can admire extraordinary paintings, sculptures, frescoes and historic interiors without the usual daytime crowds. The keyholder carries a collection of approximately 300 keys used throughout the Vatican Museums, making the ceremonial opening of each space an unforgettable part of the experience.

Following the exclusive visit, guests will enjoy an American breakfast at the Cortile della Pigna Bistro. The morning continues with a privately guided exploration of the Vatican, including a visit to St. Peter’s Basilica.

The experience continues at the estate’s working organic farm, where vegetables are grown and animals roam the grounds. Here, guests will join a dedicated chef for a hands-on cooking class using freshly harvested ingredients from the property. Learn to prepare authentic fresh pasta, dessert and other traditional dishes while discovering the flavors and techniques that define Italian home cooking.

After the class, sit down to enjoy the lunch you helped create in this remarkable private setting. The day concludes with time to explore the charming village of Castel Gandolfo, offering a relaxed finish to an intimate culinary and cultural experience unavailable to most visitors.

Learn to prepare two of Italy’s most beloved specialties during a hands-on pizza and gelato class with an English-speaking chef. Guests will work with classic ingredients such as San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella and fresh local toppings while learning traditional pizza-making techniques, followed by the art of creating homemade gelato. The welcoming experience also includes local bites and refreshments, with all ingredients and materials provided.
